Here we have a particularly lovely 5" gauge LMS Stanier Jubilee, 'Hardy'. Although it's well known that this particular model started life many moons ago as a Modelworks Jubilee, the complete ground up rebuild by James Duncan from J D Miniature Steam is nothing short of miraculous. We strongly suspect that he threw pretty much everything except the boiler away, as you really can't see any trace of it's humble beginings,..... indeed it's a superbly finished model, with loads of lovely prototypical detailing, and it has a great reputation as a reliable runner, having been a regular performer at Gilling main line rallies.
As always, she can come with a fresh hydraulic and steam test on the professionally made silver soldered copper boiler. Lubrication is mechanical and the loco is fitted with twin injectors as well as the hand pump in the tender.
We are super busy here in the workshop at the moment, so apologies for the lack of written information here at the moment! We have an ever increasing backlog of models that we need to get listed up for sale, and so have prioritised getting them photographed, priced and live for sale. As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
